Nundle Hanging Rock NSW A3 Art Print

An A3 Art Print capturing the natural beauty of Nundle Hanging Rock landmark rock outcrop, The Hanging Rock, by Nundle artist Natasha Soonchild.

Nundle Business Tourism and Marketing Group Inc commissioned the Art Print to celebrate the group's 10 th anniversary. The design is inspired by vintage travel posters.  Art prints, 297mm x 420mm, are sold unframed but a white border is included for framing. Funds raised from the sale of prints (postcard also available) will go back into the community group to fund future marketing.

Nundle and Hanging Rock are known for being picturesque, and as early as the early 1900s Hanging Rock was described as Tamworth’s Katoomba because graziers on the plains would seek relief from summer temperatures in the higher altitude. The area holds the same attraction today, with families camping at Sheba Dams and Ponderosa for the cooler summer temperatures, as well as enjoying the snow in winter.

Designing the artwork was a new challenge for artist Natasha Soonchild, featured in the March 2021 Art Issue of Country Style magazine. Natasha grew up in Nundle and returned after studying and living in Sydney and overseas.

“This was a new process for me and involved several painting studies of The Hanging Rock and photographing the rock from different angles to capture its distinctiveness,” she said.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to see the artwork printed and I am so proud of the work and the group for making it happen.”
